Multi-Domain DV

Product description

Multi-domain DV (Domain Validated) SSL certificates, also known as SAN (Subject Alternative Name) certificates or UCC (Unified Communications Certificate), allow you to secure multiple domain names (and sometimes subdomains) with a single certificate.

Similar to Single Domain DV certificates, Multi-Domain DV certificates require only basic domain validation. The Certificate Authority (CA) confirms that the applicant has control over each domain listed in the certificate by verifying domain ownership through methods such as email verification or uploading a verification file to the website’s server.

Multi-domain DV certificates are ideal for organizations that manage multiple domain names and want to encrypt connections for all of them without the need for extensive validation. They are commonly used by small businesses, startups, and individuals who need to secure various domains for websites, blogs, or other online applications.

It’s important to note that, like Single Domain DV certificates, Multi-Domain DV certificates do not provide information about the organization behind the website and do not display the organization’s name in the browser’s address bar. They simply encrypt the connection between the user’s browser and the website, showing a padlock icon to indicate that the connection is secure.
