Single Domain DV

Product description

A Single Domain DV (Domain Validated) SSL certificate is a type of SSL/TLS certificate that provides basic encryption for a single domain. DV certificates are the simplest and most affordable type of SSL certificate available.

To obtain a Single Domain DV certificate, the Certificate Authority (CA) only verifies that the applicant has control over the domain for which the certificate is being issued. Typically, this verification process involves confirming that the applicant owns or controls the domain by sending an email to an address associated with the domain (e.g., [email protected]) or by having the applicant upload a verification file to the website’s server.

Single Domain DV certificates do not include any organization validation. As a result, they do not provide any information about the organization behind the website, and they do not display the organization’s name in the browser’s address bar. Instead, they simply encrypt the connection between the user’s browser and the website, displaying a padlock icon to indicate that the connection is secure.

While Single Domain DV certificates are limited in terms of validation and do not provide the highest level of trust, they are suitable for personal websites, blogs, small businesses, and other non-sensitive applications where encryption is needed but advanced validation is not required. They offer a quick and cost-effective way to secure a single domain.
